And This is Why …

Owen and James always have bruises on their heads. They climb up on everything. And fall. Yesterday, Sophie yelled to me from the dining room, “MOM! Owen’s on top of the dining room table!” And he was. We now keep the kitchen chairs on top of the kitchen counter. Otherwise, James and Owen will work together to move them over to the counter, climb on top of them, and then climb on top of the counter. Several days ago Owen pushed a kitchen chair over to the refrigerator, climbed up on it, stood up and pushed the lever that dispenses water out of the refrigerator door, soaking himself, the refrigerator, the chair and the floor (he thought this was hilarious).

“You are worried about seeing him spend his early years in doing nothing. What! Is it nothing to be happy? Nothing to skip, play, and run around all day long? Never in his life will he be so busy again.” —Jean-Jacques Rousseau
